Application Process Overview

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the Eric & Sheila Samson Foundation and your commitment to making a positive impact. We would like to provide you with an overview of our application process and timeline:

Initial Assessment: The initial phase of our application process is where we evaluate the alignment of your proposal with the mission and goals of our foundation. Please be aware that the review process may take up to two months, and you can expect to receive a response within that timeframe. We appreciate your patience during this period.

Alignment Assessment: During this phase, we assess the alignment of your proposal with the objectives and focus areas of the Eric & Sheila Samson Foundation. However, it is essential to note that even if there is alignment, we may decline the application due to other considerations, such as the foundation's current commitments. We are not obligated to specify the reasons for declining the application.

Applicants have no right to a formal appeal process when an application is denied. Neither the consideration nor approval gives the Applicant/Recipient any legal entitlement to receive the award. The Eric & Sheila Samson Foundation reserves the right to terminate the funding obligation if, in its sole discretion, the Foundation determines that the Recipient has made any misrepresentations, has in any way misappropriated funds, or has done anything inconsistent with its application or with its Terms and Conditions. The Eric & Sheila Samson Foundation shall be entitled to a return of any misappropriated funds. Any declaration, order, or act leading to or resulting in the sequestration, winding-up, liquidation, or, business rescue, (or any similar or analogous proceedings) of your organization, in terms of any insolvency act, or, any other applicable Act, will automatically terminate the funding obligation.

Additional Information: If your application successfully passes through the initial assessment and alignment phases, you will receive a notification to provide additional information for your application. Please note that the entire application will not be considered until all the relevant information is submitted.

Submission Requirements: It is crucial to provide all requested information in the application. Failure to submit any required information will result in your application being voided, and you will need to start the process again from the beginning.

Assessment Outcome: Once your full application has been reviewed, we will promptly notify you of the outcome and provide feedback accordingly.

Rights & Obligations:  No costs or obligations should be incurred by the Applicant before the Funding is paid. The approval and subsequent disbursement of funds are subject to the discretion of the Eric & Sheila Samson Foundation. Any mentioned grant amounts and dates are indicative and subject to change at the sole discretion of the Eric & Sheila Samson Foundation. The Eric & Sheila Samson Foundation shall have the right to perform reasonable background checks as permitted by law on any officer, partner, employee, permitted subcontractor or agent of the Recipient that would perform any obligations under these Terms and Conditions or otherwise participate in the public benefit activity and/or project. Upon request, the Recipient shall provide a list of references to the Eric & Sheila Samson Foundation and cooperate as reasonably necessary to confirm the information provided by such references.
